Objective

The industrial sector is a driving force for Hong Kong’s economic growth. The number of employees engaged in manufacturing activities is over 100,000. Many of these are without formal professional training and professional recognition.

The Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries (PVCHK) was established in 1999. The main aim of PVCHK is to support practitioners in our industries to acquire professional recognition and enhance their professional standards. It also promotes the professionalism of Hong Kong industry.

Today, PVCHK has 37 industrial members and linked industrial member. These associations, which include both industrial associations and associations that linked to the industrial sector in Hong Kong, represent over 6,000 corporate members. The industries include metals, machinery, toys, autos, watches and clocks, electronics, mould and dies, plastics, electrical appliances, die-casting and foundries, printed circuits and food & beverage, etc.

Objectives

  • To enhance the professional and technical standard as well as to promote the professionalism of the Hong Kong industry.
  • To assess and recognize the qualification standards of the practitioners.
  • To assist the practitioners to decide on goals for continuing learning.
  • To provide and establish a platform for cross-industries information sharing.

Professional Standards

PVCHK has made reference to the academic programmes offered by Hong Kong and overseas universities and established the membership awards requirements for Honorary Fellow, FEng®, FMBA®, Fellow and Associate. The judges assess the practitioners’ academic background and working experience to determine the granting of these awards. Successful candidates will be honored as a PVCHK Honorary Fellow, FEng, FMBA, Fellow and Associate. These qualifications are recognized by the 36 PVCHK industrial members and linked industrial member.
